Sir Peter Hall, CBE was a British theater and film director. Born November 22, 1930 in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, England. Died September, 11, 2017 in London, England. Hall was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1963 and was knighted for his services to the theatre in 1977. He was the initiator of the Royal Shakespeare Company. Married to opera singer Maria Ewing (1982-1990, divorced, 1 child). Married to actress Leslie Caron (1956 -1965, divorced, 2 children).
