Hoyle Nix

Born- 22 Mar 1918 in Azle, Tarrant County, Texas, USA Died - 21 Aug 1985 (aged 67) in Big Spring, Howard County, Texas, USA. Western swing fiddler and band leader. Brother of Benny Nix and father of Larry Nix (3) and Jody Nix. Was a protégé and friend of western swing legend, Bob Wills. Nix’s Caprock recordings included “My Wasted Love,” “Comin’ Down From Denver,” and “Big Balls in Cowtown.” Hoyle Nix and his West Texas Cowboys included guitarist Eldon Shamblin.
