Norwegian violinist. The violinist Anders Kjellberg Nilsson originally comes from Oslo, but now lives in Stockholm, where he holds the position of 1st concertmaster at the Royal Opera. He was concertmaster for Kringkastingsorkesteret (the Norwegian Broadcasting Orchestra) before he became 1st concertmaster in Kungliga Hovkapellet (the Royal Court Orchestra). He has been a soloist with all symphony orchestras in Norway and often performs as a chamber musician and ensemble leader. As ensemble leader, he has had longer collaborations with Kammerorchester Basel (Chamber Orchestra Basel), Wermland Operas orkester (Wermland Opera Orchestra) and Trondheim Solistene. From 2008 to 2014, Anders was the artistic director of the Hardanger Music Festival. The Karlstad audience knows him from the years 2010-2012 when he was engaged as a guest soloist, stehgeiger and concertmaster at Wermland Opera. Anders is educated at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin under Ulf Wallin, and for the same teacher at Edsbergs Musikinstitut in Stockholm. He also has a soloist diploma from the Norwegian Academy of Music where he studied for Detlef Hahn. On a CD you can hear him in music by Ravel and Debussy with pianist Sveinung Bjelland, and as leader of the Trondheim Soloists on their Grammy Award-nominated album «Divertimenti». Anders plays a violin built by Michelangelo Bergonzi from 1744 on loan from the Dextra Musica Foundation.
