Willy Legate

Part of the Grateful Dead family and one of the best friends of Jerry Garcia. Might best be known for the phrase "There is Nothing Like a Grateful Dead Concert" on bumper stickers. Also wrote some of the stranger bits for the newsletter during the G.D. Records era. He was also the custodian of the Dead's rehearsal hall / studio, Front Street. Part of the job was to be the first curator of the Dead's tape archives there, which he eventually handed over to Dick Latvala. He later moved to Sequim, Washington. Died on November9, 2014 of an apparent heart attack.
