Dobro player KENNY HADDOCK was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia in 1935. Died in 2010 . He played music locally in Richmond in the middle 1950s and played on WRVA's New Dominion Barn Dance. After a stint in the Army (1957 - 1959) he moved to Ohio and played with a number of musicians including Sid Campbell, Pee Wee Lambert, Red Allen and Frank Wakefield, Noah Crase, and others. In the latter part of 1960, he was in the Washington, D. C. area and was asked to join the Country Gentlemen. He accepted and stayed for a year or so, appearing with them at Carnegie Hall. Kenny considers his dobro work on the Country Gentlemen's "Carnegie Hall" album to be the best of his career. Later work included a stay with Flatt & Scruggs (1962 - 1963).
