American pianist, composer and arranger (born July 19, 1897 – died June 11, 1966 in Los Angeles, CA) In the 1920s, Rose played piano with the Los Angeles-based Herb Wiedoeft's Cinderella Roof Orchestra and Herb Wiedoeft And His Orchestra. He also served as the band's arranger. Rose co-wrote the 1924 hit "Oh, Peter!" (with fellow band members Herb Wiedoeft and Jesse Stafford (2)). Other songs that he co-wrote include "Persian Nights" (1922), "Chimes Blues" (1924), "From Day To Day" (1924), "Hot Stuff" (1924), "I Wouldn't Be Crying Now" (1925), "Sad Moments" (1928), "Swing Along" (1928), "Trianon" (1928), "Kewpie" (1929), "When You're Alone" (1931). Between 1934 and 1953, he wrote and arranged around a hundred scores for Hollywood films.
