Bosnian pop-rock & Romani world-folk music composer, singer, musician and producer, born March 22, 1950 in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. Goran Bregović (born March 22, 1950) is a musician from Bosnia and Herzegovina and one of the most recognizable modern composers of the Balkans. Bregović's music carries both South Slavic and Romani themes and is a fusion of modern pop/rock with traditional polyphonic music from the Balkans. He started his musical career with the rock band 'Bijelo Dugme', a group that rose to stardom and set the groundwork for the Yugoslav rock scene of the late 1970s and mid 1980s. Goran entered the world of film music in 1989, and became known internationally for his scores for Emir Kusturica's films (Time of the Gypsies, Arizona Dream, Underground).
