The Heaters (2)

Danish 1960's The Kinks-inspired rock group from Valby, formed I 1964. Mk. I line up: Georg Andersen (lead-g, vo) Erling Thomsen (rhythm-g) John Jensen (el-b) Erik Larsen (dm). Evolved into a quartet in September 1964 with the addition of: Ib Monrad (lead-vo, hca) (ex-The Clidows) Won the title as "Denmark's Kinks" in a 1965 contest and wa awarded a recording session with the Music Corner label. The recorded single with "Walking Down The i Street" written by Andersen and Thomsen didn't impress the label so the recording was only released in a few promo/test press copies. By the end of 1965 the original The Heaters disbanded and sold their name, contracts and gear to five other local musicians. Mk. II line up: Fritz Jacobsen (lead-g) Britton Daldorf (lead-vo) Hans Olsen (el-b) Bjørn Grotten (rhythm-g) Georg »Gokke« Larsen (dm). This group dissolved in 1968 after these replacements: Jørgen Christensen (lead-vo), himself later replaced by Bent Simonsen (lead-vo). Hans Olsen replaced by Erik Petersen (el-b) Georg »Gokke« Larsen replaced by Preben Witt (dm).
