Alexander Semenovich Oratovsky, was born in 1950 in Leningrad. In 1973 he graduated with honors from the Leningrad Conservatory with a degree in cello (concert performer, orchestra soloist, teacher). Winner of the All-Russian and international competitions (Moscow, 1972 and Gernsbach, Germany, 1991).
