Hip Hop group started by Evil Ed and Lone Disciple in 1989. The duo made 2 demo tapes, 'Demolition' and 'Agents In Action' in 1989 before recruiting talented MC Mistima (ex rhyme-partner of Silver Bullet) in 1990. As a trio they recorded the demo tape entitled 'The Greenbelt Chronikills' (a nod to UK rap classic 'Gangster Chronicles' by London Posse). Lone Disciple left the group in 1992 and Evil Ed and Mistima carried on recording with Ed mostly on production and cuts and Mistima on vocals. As a duo Ed and Mistima made many demo tracks and after many a knock back from record labels they eventually caught the ear of Tee from Shropshire based label Pure Rudeness. Hidden Identity released only one vinyl EP, 1994's 'Blunted Bumpkin Buskers...On Da Dole'. Even before the vinyl dropped the tracks 'Return Ov Da Red Eye' and 'Big Hed 4 Da Dred' were getting weekly play off of cassette by both 279 on Choice FM and Max & Dave on Kiss FM. The EP eventually came out on wax in May 1994 to critical acclaim and with it's jacked beats, hilarious lyrics, sound bites and quirky cuts it remains a UK Hip Hop favourite from that era. The crew only did two gigs, both disastrous. One was at Zazoo's night club in Milton Keynes (2 weeks after a then unknown Take That appeared there in 1991) where they were cut off after 2 tracks and one was at the Tivoli in Buckly to launch the EP. Mistima was heckled and proceeded to chant back at the audience, nearly getting the group killed. The group split shortly after the EP came out due to Mistima having 'other commitments' and failing to record any new tracks.
