COTD's music style ranges from shoegaze, alternative rock, noise pop, thrash metal, death metal, new wave, bossa nova, post-hardcore, ambient, noise rock, neo-acoustic, to electronica. The band's initial influences were Dinosaur Jr., Ned's Atomic Dustbin, and My Bloody Valentine.
