Jen Majura was born on 16 June 1983 and is a German guitarist, bassist and singer of Thai descent. he started in music at the age of six, and has played professionally since 2000. She featured on Rage's "Lord of the Flies" track and toured with the band from 2006–2009 on several international tours. As of 2015, Majura founded the bands Black Thunder Ladies (lead guitarist and backings), Knorkator (guitarist 2012–2014), Equilibrium (bass 2014), and Evanescence (guitarist). On 7 August 2015, Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee announced that Majura would replace lead guitarist Terry Balsamo in the band.[3] On 2 November 2015, Equilibrium announced via Facebook that Majura had parted ways with the band to focus on Evanescence. She parted ways from Evanescence in May 2022. With Evanescence On 7 August 2015, Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee announced that Majura would replace lead guitarist Terry Balsamo in the band. On November 2, 2015, Equilibrium announced via Facebook that Majura had left the band. The first Evanescence album she recorded is 2017's Synthesis, tracking guitar and theremin. The latter she learned especially for the album. She has writing credits on the album's lead single, "Imperfection". During live shows, she sings backing vocals on some songs. In early 2020 she recorded the first four songs on the band's fifth album, The Bitter Truth, but had to record the rest of her guitar parts remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic because she lives in Germany and wasn't able to join the band in July 2020 to resume recording. On May 21, 2022, the band announced that it parted ways with her.
