Swedish pianist and professor, born October 1, 1949 in Helsingborg. Hans Pålsson has studied piano for Robert Riefling in Copenhagen and Oslo and for Hans Leygraf at the University of Music and Theater in Hanover, where he graduated as a soloist in 1972. He has become most famous for his interpretations of works from Viennese classicism and the 20th century. He has been the head teacher of piano at the Malmö Academy of Music (Lund University) since 1979 and a professor since 1987. He appeared as a pianist and narrator in the television program In the company of dead masters, which was directed and produced by Marianne Söderberg in five rounds in the years 1993 to 2000. In Jan Troell's film As White as a Snow, he had a minor role as a piano teacher. He published the book Thoughts on Music in 2002 and was awarded the Pirate Prize the following year.
