Giampaolo Bisanti

Giampaolo Bisanti, conductor Born in Milan, studied conducting, clarinet, piano and composition at the Conservatory ‘G.Verdi’ of his home town, is award winner of several international conducting competitions as the ‘Dimitris Mitropolous’ competition in Athens. Since 2017 he has been appointed Chief Condcutor of the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Italy. As of 2015, a row of highly successful important international debuts definitely launched him to major attention and appreciation, like the new production of LA BOHEME at the Oper Zurich and MACBETH at the Teatro Liceo Barcelona. Since then he made his successful debuts with different new productions and repertory at the Semperoper Dresden, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Staatsoper Vienna, Festival Peralada, Opéra Lausanne, Stadttheater Basel, Festival Les Chorégies in Orange, Teatro Sao Carlos Lisbon, New National Theatre Tokyo, to mention a few. 2019 marks his return to the Liceo Barcelona for a production of ‘MADAME BUTTERFLY’, to the Staatsoper Vienna for ‘RIGOLETTO’, ‘LA TRAVIATA’ (opening season 2019/20) and MACBETH’ , his debuts at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich with ‘LA BOHEME’, at the Théatre Capitole Toulouse with ‘NORMA’(season opening production), at the Macerata Summer Opera Festival with RIGOLETTO, at the Auditorio Tenerife with TURANDOT, productions of ANNA BOLENA in Liège and on tour to Muscat, of MADAME BUTTERLFY and LA BOHEME at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari; further debuts are already scheduled, as from 2020 onwards, at the Staatsoper Hamburg, Opera Australia Sydney, as well as at the Lyric Opera Chicago, Opera Bilbao….
