Swedish classical clarinetist born 1951, died, February 9, 2010. He received his education at the Academy of Music in Ingesund and at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. He also studied for Professor Guy Deplus in Paris and at the Flemish Music Conservatory in Antwerp, where he studied for Professor Walter Boeykens. Already in 1971, he joined the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Since 1977, he taught chamber music and clarinet at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where he was professor and head teacher. From 1982 to 1986, he was a guest teacher on summer courses with the National Youth Orchestra in Canada. In 1995, Kjell-Inge Stevensson was a visiting professor at Michigan State University He has twice been awarded the Swedish Gramophone Prize and also the award Kristallen den fina for his contributions to contemporary music. Since 1982, he was the conductor of the Futurum Ensemble at the Royal Academy of Music.
