Об исполнителе:
Coming from a family of griot laudateurs- "xalamkat" (players of xalam or Senegalese luth), genealogist, social chronicler, historian and poet, Amadou Ndiaye Samb, has largely contributed to the valorization and popularization of Senegalese classical and lyrical music (...). His 1960 performance of "Niani" (a song about the historical province of Niani in eastern Senegal) earned him immense popularity throughout the country. From then on, he was asked to become, together with Samba Diabare Samb considered by many as his brother, a founding member of the Ensemble Lyrique Sorano in Dakar (1962). This famous duo of "xalamkats" (xalam players) made his strings sound in various events: official visits of heads of state, cultural days, festivals ... In 2006, his famous title "Niani" is remixed in the compilation African Pearls 4 - Senegal : The Teranga Spirit, produced by Senegalese Ibrahima Sylla.
