The Perth County Conspiracy, also known as 'the Perth County Conspiracy (does not exist)', was a Canadian folk music group established in 1969, active during the 1970s, and comprised of roughly 30 members who lived on a commune near Stratford, Ontario. The core musical members (originally Cedric Smith, Richard Keelan, and Michael Butler (14), later adding Terry Jones (8) and Michael McConkey, but members would come and go over time) would continue performing and touring during planting and harvesting seasons. Their music is characterized by its message-oriented lyrics, its theatrical nature, and its unconventional arrangements.
