Canadian (Québec) guitarist, composer, arranger, and teacher from Montréal, born July 27, 1928 and died June 3rd, 2020. He started playing guitar at the age of 8. By the age of 20 he was working at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation as a session guitarist. In the 1950's Tony was a part of the Montreal Jazz circuit. He became a first-call jazz session player, playing with jazz legends including Oscar Peterson, Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker. Later in his career, he performed with L'Orchestre Symphonique De Montreal as well as Orchestre Symphonique De Quebec, before settling into teaching at Concordia University (1974–77) and later McGill University (1979–2000). He continued to give guitar lessons at Vanier College in Montréal. Retiring in 2012.
