Michael Azerrad is an American author, journalist and musician. He is one of the most respected music journalists of our time, having penned two of the most influential music texts of the modern era: "Our Band Could Be Your Life" – a dissection of the careers of 13 influential underground rock bands of the 80s and early 90s, including Hüsker Dü, The Replacements, Minutemen, Sonic Youth and Fugazi ­ – and the acclaimed Nirvana biography "Come As You Are." He’s also written for a myriad of esteemed music publications such as Rolling Stone, Spin and Mojo.
