World Of Lies 2014: Tony Avila - Guitar + Vocals, Thomas Rusnak - Bass & Michael Thompson - Drums World Of Lies is a Death Metal band from Portland, Oregon that mixes Grindcore, Thrash, Hardcore Punk & Crust Punk. Formed in Sacramento, California in 2001 by Tony Avila as a side project of his death metal band Eulogy (Sacto). World Of Lies started playing shows and released it's 1st CD called Material God in 2002. World Of Lies played many shows in and around California promoting their CD. In 2004 World Of Lies landed on a compilation record and released their self titled full length record. World Of Lies moved to Portland at the end of 2004. World Of Lies with their new line up started playing shows in Oregon before the end of 2004. There were numerous line up changes until World Of Lies released the Thorns EP in 2007. World Of Lies played shows in the north west promoting the release. More line up changes occurred and World Of Lies released a split CD with Seattle's Toe Tag featuring at the time 3 of the 4 members of The Accused. Numerous shows were played promoting the split CD. Then World Of Lies went on hiatus for 3 and a half years. At the end of 2012 World Of Lies was reformed as a 3 piece line up consisting of Tony Avila - Vocals/ Guitar, Tony "OT" Papasadero - Bass/ Vocals and Michael Thompson - Drums. In 2013 World Of Lies played it's come back show with Nile to a sold out crowd in Portland, Oregon. Then WOL recorded 3 new songs as well as some classic material from the past and released a new EP called Living Under Drones. Released the 1st day of their tour. WOL toured Oregon, Nevada and California. The week WOL got back they played a huge show with Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, Immolation & Cretin. Later in the year World Of Lies played with Havok and Morbid Angel. In 2014 World Of Lies parted ways with Tony "OT" Papasadero and welcomed Thomas Rusnak from Rorschach/ Kiss It Goodbye/ Poison Idea on Bass. The 1st show of 2014 for World Of Lies is with D.R.I.. 2014 Tony Avila - Guitar + Vocals Thomas Rusnak - Bass Michael Thompson - Drums WOL has shared the stage with national act such as, Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, The Accüsed, Origin, Exhumed, Severed Savior, D.R.I., Slough Feg, M.O.D., Crisis, Incantation, Pyrexia, Paths Of Possession, Vital Remains, Havok, Immolation, Cretin, Nile, Dr. Know, Morbid Angel, and Deicide.
