Desmond Majekodunmi

Engineer and producer born in Ibadan, Nigeria. In 1967 he moved to Ireland to study where in 1969 he met Phil Lynott who sang with a band called Skid Row and became their drummer. Studied to become a sound engineer by becoming the first black audio engineer in London by doing his apprenticeship at De Lane Lea Studios, Wembley . Back in Nigeria he married Sheila Andrea Green (Sheila Majekodunmi), worked as a producer and engineer with CBS in Nairobi, Kenya. In the early 1980s, he decided he wanted to become a farmer. So he joined the Nigerian Conservation Foundation and started an agroforestry farm. In the late 1990s he left Sheila. Today, Desmond Majekodunmi heads LUFASI (Lekki Urban Forest and Animal Shelter Initiative), runs the agroforestry farm Majekodunmi Agricultural Projects and the consulting firm Desco Tourism & Trade Developments, producing documentaries and broadcasting a radio show to spread the message of conservation.
