James Nathaniel "Jim" Brown (born February 17, 1936 - died May 18, 2023) was an American professional football player and actor. He is best known for his exceptional and record-setting nine-year career as a running back for the NFL Cleveland Browns from 1957 to 1965. In 2002, he was named by Sporting News as the greatest professional football player ever. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest professional athletes in the history of the United States. His films include, "Rio Conchos" (1964), "The Dirty Dozen" (1967), "Dark of the Sun" (1968), "Riot" (1969), "100 Rifles" (1969), "Slaughter's Big Rip-Off" (1973), "Mars Attacks!" (1996), and many more. Often acted with Fred "The Hammer" Williamson. He died the same day as his "Slaughter" co-star Marlene Clark.
