Cantina Sociale, from Asti/Alba region south of Turin, formed in 1996 with the aim of developing the sound of the alternative Bands of the Seventies by adding personal research, as well as an original theatrical approach, to their progressive rock. The meeting with Beppe Crovella, producer and keyboardist of Arti & Mestieri, was the beginning of an important artistic path that led to the release of “[u]Balene[/u] (c'è qualcosa di più)” [1] in 2002, for which Cantina Sociale won the [u]Memorial Demetrio Stratos Prize[/u] in 2003. Tracks from this early album appeared on some compilations. In 2004, the Band participated at the [u]Kalevala Project[/u]. In 2006, the Band published the Live DVD, “[u]Catturati[/u]” [2]. The Band's second album, “[u]Cum Lux[/u]” [3], would release in 2009. After the further third studio release of “[u]Caosfera[/u]“ [4][Digi-Pack] in 2017 which contains seven nice instrumental songs, within 2018 Iano Nicolo' came back as a lead singer of the Band. During 2019, Cantina Sociale played material from all there albums Live, two Sets at the famous [u]2 Days Prog + 1 Festival[/u] Veruno, Piemont and also at the huge [u]Verona Prog Fest[/u]. All the material of the Band are release by Electromantic Music. Further Live activities are scheduled.
