From his early studies with Abraham Zevi Idelsohn, he acquired an interest in Jewish folklore and tradition. 1929 - presented a weekly program of Jewish music on the French Radio 1936 -1940 teaches Hebrew chant at the Schola Cantorum and at the Israelite School of Pedagogy and liturgy Paris (where he was director) 1936 -1937 - conductor of Chorus Grande Synagogue from Paris 1958 - published a collection of séphardis Songs (London) and also wrote essays on Jewish music in several scientific publications. 1961 - was elected music director of consistorial temples of Paris
