David Goloschekin, born June 10, 1944 in Moscow, Russia, is a jazz multi-instrumentalist and composer from Saint Petersburg, People's Artist of Russia (1999) and holder of honorary medal Zasłużony dla Kultury Polskiej. Goloschekin plays violin, saxophone, flugelhorn, double bass, piano, vibraphone, Hammond organ, drums and harp. Variant transcription of name: David Semyonovich Goloshchokin. Goloschekin debuted as a professional musician at the jazz festival Tallin-1961. He participated in various ensembles, including Ady Rosner Orchestra, and in 1963 established his own Leningrad Jazz Music Band. During Duke Ellington's USSR tour in 1971, David shared the stage with the maestro, who was highly impressed by this Soviet artist. In 1977, he released a debut album Jazz Compositions.
