Chiquita (3)

In 1968, Kenneth Sjöberg formed, together with some friends, an orchestra in Alingsås, Sweden. The band was renamed to Chiquita Brass in 1972, and as that Chiquita Brass had an entry on the Swedish charts on June 1, 1975. But, during the disco-era, from 1977 to 1979, the orchestra both skipped the last word Brass and also played disco music. In 1981, there was another style change and back was what it all started with in 1968, and that is what the orchestra still performs, i.e. dance music at dance venues. Members in the orchestra between 2009 and 2014 were Benny Bendén - vocals, guitar, saxophone; Kenneth Sjöberg - bass, backing vocals; Jörgen Flach - keyboards, accordion, vocals; Simon Åhs - drums, vocals. In 2015, Jörgen and Simon were replaced by Tomas Edström - keyboards, accordion, vocals; Thomas Andreasson - drums. In 2018, Tomas Edström left the orchestra and is since then replaced by Ulf Esborn. Martino Borén, drums and voals, is also a new member since 2019 and is replacing Thomas Andreasson.
