Australian musician (trombone) & vocalist First professional job with Joe Watson's Green Mill Orchestra in Melbourne 1929. In the early 1930s was in Singapore working with Monia Liter's Band at the Raffles Hotel. By January 1933 was playing in Mrs. Jack Hylton's Band in England including in a tour of Europe during 1934. He sang the vocal on Mrs. Jack Hylton's Crown recording of "The Oregon Trail". Left Mrs. Hylton in November 1935 and played with various other bands 1936-1938 including Ambrose, Jack Jackson, Jack Payne, Carroll Gibbons & Jack Harris. With Billy Ternent in early 1940s, then with the Stanley Black Orchestra which provided musical backing for the BBC radio show "Much Binding In The Marsh" - in which he made occasional appearances. After WWII toured Denmark and by 1953 was playing in Rhodesia. Returned to Australia in June 1954 to lead the band at Melbourne's Palais de Danse in St. Kilda. Was working with the Frank Marcy band in Sydney in 1955.
