Bridgeburne R

Bridgeburne R was a fake band created in 2000 by members of As Friends Rust and Speak 714. The idea was to create a 1980's hardcore punk band complete with imaginary history and discography. They became Bridgeburne R, a Texas based punk band formed in 1984, and released five fictional 7"s; 1986 Demo (1986, Kidz4kidz Records), Scenekiller (1987, Shotput Records), The Kids Can Eat Our Shit (1989, Maedog Recordings), Split with Born Against (1991, Hogwash Records) and Split with Nausea (2) (1992, Hogwash Records). The splits with Nausea and Born Against were fabricated in order to fake legitimacy. Their fake history also included touring with Black Flag, Bad Religion, Negative Approach, Biohazard and Nuclear Assault. The fictional band broke up in 1994 but in 2001 they asked Genet Records to release a discography collection (their only real release) and the actual band played a few shows in Europe to help sell the record.
