Equal-I

Artist/Dj/Producer Equal-I has been collecting records and Djing since the early '90s in London. His incredibly diverse records have been heard playing at clubs and parties over the years, switching genres and styles keeping an eclectic interest. Jungle/Drum n Bass grew in strength in the mid-'90s and Equal-i found his love for this style by producing music using an Atari computer and an Akai S900 sampler with very little sample memory he created ideas that formed his early love for electronic music production. Was a resident DJ at Anokha at the Blue Note Hoxton Square in the mid 90's Djing alongside State of Bengal and Talvin Singh. The Soundz of the Asian Underground compilation ANOKHA where Equal-I track Equation made his debut." Equaltion" fused elements of Jungle, Tabla, Jazz, and Dub. Having played in Clubs like London Fabric, 93 Feet East, and The End in clubs London. Equal-I had bookings to play his Asian Jungle sets worldwide, playing in Japan's "Liquid Rooms" (Tokyo and Osaka), New York (Concrete Jungle), and Mumbai (Rasberry Rhino). He currently resides in Brighton and Hove in the UK working on soundtracks for sync and making special guest appearances at clubs and festivals.
