Having had a release on one of the most iconic record labels around, as well as having written music for one of the world’s leading orchestras, Isa Khan (eEsa) is making a name for himself in the unusual mix of both the dance and classical music worlds. Early Life and Classical Career: eEsa began playing the violin aged 2½, followed by the piano and composition at 5. Aged 8, he was awarded a full scholarship to study at the Purcell School of Music; England’s oldest specialist music school. From there, he went on to study composition under a scholarship at the world renowned Royal College of Music, London, where he graduated with a 1st class BMus (Hons) degree. During his teens, eEsa frequently performed solo violin concerts around the UK, as well as with orchestras, touring Europe. As a composer, his innovative contemporary classical works have been performed by, amongst others, the revered London Philharmonic Orchestra, at some of the finest concert venues in England including the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Wigmore Hall. ‘Isa Khan delivered soundscapes of glissandi and whispers... with structure and purpose’ - The Times (UK). Producer Career: It was during this time that eEsa’s interest in jazz, latin and dance music grew. After hearing Rasmus Faber’s “Ever After”, the first time he had heard music which combined all three genres, he felt inspired to begin writing and producing his own house music. Fast forward a number of years to 2012, and it was Rasmus Faber himself who launched eEsa's career as a producer, releasing "The Way" on his label, Farplane Records. The Way quickly received support from renowned DJ's across the globe including Grant Nelson, Richard Earnshaw, Hardsoul, Andy Ward and Groove Junkies to name just a few. It was later featured on Hed Kandi's Beach House 2012 compilation CD (#18 in the official UK Compilation Chart) Driven to make his own mark on house music, eEsa formed Quinto, a live house collective which features some of the most exciting musicians from the UK jazz scene, all of whom are creating a buzz in their own right. This unique sound is an ever growing part of eEsa's productions too, most recently on his remix of the classic Farplane track Nightlife by Feet, released on Rasmus Faber's new label, RaFa Music.
