Leny Dijkstra

Leny Dijkstra-de Vries (1943) is the wife of Leo Dijkstra and a daughter of Tetman de Vries. She worked with her father from 1963 to 1966. Later she continued in the cabaret company Selskip Leo Dykstra. Leny Dijkstra sings Frisian-language songs and played in the musical Kening op Sokken. In 2015 she performed with Rients Gratama in the program Doe kaam de maaitiid, a tribute to Tetman de Vries. In May and June 2018, Leny Dijkstra toured Friesland with Hiske Oosterwijk with the Taal op it spoar program. The program takes place in an imaginary train. The duo tells and sings to music by Cees Bijlstra. Addy Scheele and Anke Piersma provided the musical accompaniment. Dijkstra was a jury member for many years during the Liet Festival.
