Teddy Bishop

US Producer, composer, songwriter, keyboardist. A native of Detroit, Teddy was definitely influenced by the “Motown Sound”. A self taught musician, Teddy plays a number of different instruments such as the piano, drums and guitar. At age fourteen, Teddy began participating in various talent shows and attended the Detroit Institute of Arts where he studied recording engineering. He then became a band member of the R&B group Kiara. The group eventually disbanded and went their separate ways but the group’s lead singer encouraged Teddy to pursue a career as a producer and songwriter. After moving to Atlanta, Teddy signed to LaFace Records as a producer. L.A. & Babyface took Teddy under their wing and became Teddy’s mentors. It was during this time that one of his songs was placed on Toni Braxton’s debut LP, which successfully charted and sold well. Since then, Teddy has contributed to much projects in the music business and received a number of BMI awards for Songwriter and Producer of the Year. He continues to stay in the studio creating work with his newly launched production company, Groove Factor Productions. With Groover Factor Productions, he plans to continue making hits, as well as signing new writers, producers and artists. In the future, he plans to score more movies and establish new business ventures of his own. Determined not to confine his style and sound to a box, Teddy is constantly learning and growing in his ability.
