The Dements were one of the first hardcore punk bands active in Lucca (Italy). They were formed in 1983: three members of the group also played in the Diatriba and the singer also played in the No Fun. The group was part of the Tuscan scene of G.D.H.C. (Gran Ducato Hard Core) along with the Brontosauri and the War Dogs with whom they shared the rehearsal room in a basement in the historic center of Lucca. Their first concert took place in the same year (1983) at the Last White Christmas, an historic festival held in the deconsecrated church of San Zeno di Pisa, which gathered most of G.D.H.C. bands. The Dements self-produced a demo tape "C., B. & Co. LTD" together with the Diatriba and they were dissolved in 1985. In 1984 they took part in Last White Christmas I, a compilation of Italian hardcore punk on cassette produced by the tape label Bad Compilation Tapes (B.C.T.) of S.Diego, California (USA). In 2000 the Last White Christmas cassette was reissued on CD by the Schizophrenic Records of Hamilton, Ontario (Canada) and by the Human Stench Records of Pittsfield, MA (Massachusetts), USA in the limited edition of 500 copies. Massimo Bianchini – drum Raga (Massimo Rabassini) – voice, sax Carlo Salvetti – guitar Johnny (Giovanni Spagna) – bass
