Josh Gravelin

American bassist from Kastota, Minnesota. After high school, he moved to Minneapolis, where he was a member of punk bands Blow, Snapperhead and The Velvet Jones. Gravelin moved to Austin, Texas in 1995 and was based in the city for 15 years. He played with bands including Cotton Mather, MAD6 and Midnite Auto Suppy and backed artists such as Alejandro Escovedo, Guy Forsyth, Braver Nelson and Ian Moore. Gravelin returned to Minnesota in 2010, forming Americana group The Wooden Nickels, He has a business selling custom bass and guitar pickups and has continued to tour with the Austin-based Cotton Mather.
