French label manager / A&R / Publicist for : Link Company, Disques Vogue, CNR Music / Arcade, Wagram Music, Nothing to Say (NTS), Replica Records, Replica promotion Working in the French music industry since 1987, Olivier Garnier is primary a “metal” fan. In the mid-80 his passion hooked him a small FM radio show and then to the French fan-club of the English band Tokyo Blade, which was his first “official” music activities. By 88, he learned the job of PR in a label named Link Company (Gypsy Queen, Winter’s Reign, Chrome Molly, Doc Holliday, Michael Katon and Statetrooper) founded by Dany Terbeche (Trash, Enfer magazine, Tokyo Blade) and then, still with Dany and photographer Marc Villalonga (later co-founder of Rock Hard France) moved to the “journalist” side in free publication named Support and then Line-Up Magazine. In the early 90’s Olivier made the “big jump” and became product manager at Disques Vogue where, under the direction of former Polydor Head of Int’l, Claude Ismael, he was in charge of the legendary label Music for Nations as well as Metal Blade Records, Zappa Records and China Records. At the time he worked on the Steve Vai "Passion & Warfare" album and some artists as Frank Zappa and his son Dweezil, The Stranglers, Green on Red, Joe Satriani, Art Of Noise, The Cramps, and launched in France some acts as Paradise Lost, Cannibal Corpse, Freak of Nature, Bad Moon Rising, The Levellers. After 2 years at BMG (which bought Disques Vogue) Olivier became A&R for Arcade/CNR Music (which became Wagram Music) where he did signed for France bands as Angra, Rhapsody, Dweezil Zappa, Mike Tramp, Saigon Kick, Vanden Plas, Symphony X, Freak Kitchen, Manowar, HammerFall, Edguy. In 1999, in cooperation with Wagram Music, he started his own company, NTS (Nothing To Say) which carried on what he started with CNR. NTS established in France such names as Angra, Symphony X, Rhapsody or Stratovarius. The company also launched French acts as Adagio or Manigance and found them deals in Japan. At the time he aslo introduced DragonHeart to the Sanctuary label & management. This small band based in London, England became DragonForce right before they signed their deal with the Noise Records / Sanctuary label. the rest is history... In 2004, Olivier launched Replica Records, a short lived label, which soon became Replica Promotion. As freelance publicist / consultant he's in charge of the promotion of the HellFest (since 2008), the biggest metal festival in France, as well as for many bands, labels and concert promoters in France. In 2023 he's still very active on the French market as publicist for Metallica, Ghost, Def Leppard, The Scorpions, Porcupine Tree, Megadeth, Steven Wilson, Rammstein , Carpenter Brut, Airbourne, Duff McKagan, Pearl Jam, Greta Van Fleet, Ayron Jones, Papa Roach, Baroness, Within Temptation, Mammoth WVH, Fever 333, Soen, The Answer... to name a few... During two seasons, Olivier was in charge of the Artists booking for the Une Dose 2 Metal TV show, broadcasted the Enôrme TV cable channel.
