US orchestra based in New York. Organised in 1961 by conductor David Blum, the orchestra was modelled on the one led by Joseph Haydn at the Esterhazy court in Hungary. The orchestra recorded mainly the works of Haydn and other 18th century composers for the Vanguard classics label.
