Юз Алешковский = Yuz Aleshkovsky (September 21, 1929, Krasnoyarsk, Siberian region, USSR – March 21, 2022) was a modern Russian writer, poet, playwright, and performer of his own songs.. Since 1979 he has been living in the USA. Laureate of the German Pushkin Prize, awarded in 2001 in aggregate - "for the work created by the writer since the 50s, which made him one of the leading personalities of Russian literature of the XX century."
