Julian Bonequi

Julian Bonequi (Audition Records, Berlin-Mexico) Hybrid Artist and XR Composer. His sonic research is focused in performative extended reality interfaces and vocal trance channelling. As soloist Bonequi compiles cathartic rituals between dark enlightenment and compost-melancholy working with amplified drums and sensory percussion. His music offers obscure connections between opera, improvised holophrenia, noise ambiences and extreme music. He has performed under the conduction of the London and Berlin Improvisers Orchestra, Orquesta FOCO of Madrid, William Parker, Tristan Honsinger, Tarek Atoui, Vagina Dentata Organ, among others, and has been involved in bands as Ultraspießer with Julian Percy (Last Dominion Lost), and Machinations of Joy with Ricardo Tejero and Dave Tucker. In the 90's he was the drummer of the legendary RIO experimental Mexican band Decibel (2), and in 2013, together with Rodrigo Ambriz [Cacophonic Joy] they founded (SIC), one of the most extreme projects of the History of Experimental Music in Mexico.
