American lyricist, cartoonist and writer. Born November 18, 1900 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA. Died December 30, 1967 (aged 67) in Los Angeles, California, USA. Best known as the creator and sole writer (later head writer to Phil Leslie) of the NBC popular old-time radio show Fibber McGee and Molly for 17 years. He worked for Ad-Staff, Inc. writing lyrics for jingles with Martin Sperzel while the music was composed by Henry Russell (2) for companies such as Granny Goose Potato Chips, Reddi-Wip, Sanka, Speedway, Stokely's and Van Camp's Frozen Casseroles. He also wrote for the TV series "Four Star Play House", "The Dinah Shore Chevy Show", "The Addams Family" and commercial jingles for all the major networks.
