Swedish composer, cathedral organist and conductor, born October 21, 1962 in Skövde. After graduating from high school in 1980, Sixten attended a two-year preparatory music department at Skara diocese's folk high school. During the same period, he graduated as a cantor in Gothenburg. During the years 1982–1986, he studied music at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, where his main instrument was piano. It was during this time that he began composition studies under the guidance of Sven-David Sandström. Then followed studies in the higher church music line between the years 1988–1993 when he graduated. During the years 1996–1998, Sixten studied choral pedagogy at the Academy of Music, University of Gothenburg with Professor Gunnar Eriksson (2) as teacher.
