Spike Woods

Ian "Spike" Woods was born in Nottingham and was one of the founders of the Nottingham Folk Workshop. He went to Art College and studied both Art & Teaching in Cardiff and then escaped to Pembrokeshire. From there he ended up in the South-West of England and could be heard singing songs such as "The Big Bird", "The Quiet Beast", "The Motorbike Kid" and a lot of blues based songs such as "Talking Cowman Blues". He wrote songs to support the World Wildlife Fund (as it was then) and has continued performing and recording right up to the present day. Ian "Spike" Woods is not the same as the other Ian Woods who runs Frodsham Folk Club.
