Fun artwork fact: If you flip the logo 180 degrees it still reads LIPKA. LIPKA was created in Geneva in 2009 to join the musical forces of two childhood friends, Felix Landis and Etienne Maître. LIPKA is an encounter of two very different musical backgrounds: punk, drum n’ bass, dancehall, folk, electronica, rock etc… all meet to give birth to a coherent and harmonic result. LIPKA offers a large sonic landscape where the chameleon like voice of Felix goes from one key to the other and from story to story while Etienne provides an eclectic and immersive production. The rhythms and the lyrics leave a strong impression on the mind, offering a different view on everyday life. A sophisticated mix, full of irony and the occasional black humor… Whether it be through the broadcasting of their poignant piece “Peanuts” on the show “Repérages” on Couleur 3, or through their presence on the Demo tape Clinic compilation 2013 issued by the M4music festival, LIPKA are promised a bright future. Florian Pittet of the collective SigmaSix joins the two on stage, providing an impressive and captivating visual counterpoint to the music. Using projection, smoke, light, the performance is always adapted to the location. Felix Landis delivers an extraordinary live performance, whilst Etienne Maître, as an accomplished MC, easily connects to the audience. The unusual mixing of electric guitars, DJing and VJing will certainly not leave you indifferent!
