Marty Drake was a 1940's comic turned 1950's singer and was considered one of the top potential recording singers in the 1950's. He trained for two years with the great Al Jolson that gave him a Jolsonesque voice -quality but popular success alluded him. Marty was in the Broadway musical revue "Bagels and Yox" 1951-2.
