Γιοβάν Τσαούς

Iovan or Yovan Tsaous (from the Turkish word "çavuş", meaning "sergeant", because of the rank of sergeant he held while serving in the Ottoman army) was a Greek musician (saz, oud, baglama, piano, violin, tambura) and composer of rebetiko songs from Pontus. Born in 1893 Kastamonu, Ottoman Empire - Died in October 1942 in Kokkinia, Piraeus, Greece.
