The group was formed in 1984 by the singer Siân James and a group of friends while she was a student at the University of Wales, Bangor . The influences of folk and rock styles are evident in their music. One album called Love Love was released on the Sound label in 1984. The band won the Cân i Gymru competition in 1985 with Ceiliog y Gwynt .
