Norman Weiser

American label executive, publisher and music editor. President of Chappell Music and executive at United Artists Records. Dead: July 20, 1993 in Manhattan, New York (aged 73) Article on page 3 of the 10 Apr 1965 edition of Billboard magazine: "Weiser Back With UA as Coast Chief NEW YORK - Norman Weiser returns to United Artists Records as West Coast director. a newly created post. Weiser had been vice-president of the label in the early 1960's, moved to the vice-presidency of 20th Century-Fox Records, and most recently was managing director of Congress and Four Corners Records, subsidiary labels of Kapp Records. One of his recent efforts on Four Corners, "Name Game," with Shirley Ellis, achieved hit status. Weiser will move to Hollywood next week and will headquarter at the UA offices in the Goldwyn studios at 1041 N. Formosa. Weiser will supervise UA's Coast activities on both the record and music publishing levels. He will also act as liaison between the record and music publishing affiliates and the parent film company."
