Monica Alejandra Patricia Rodríguez known as Monik is a Chilean singer and songwriter. Monik started music at the age of 9 when he moved to La Serena and entered the Jorge Peña Hen Experimental School of Music, where he acquired knowledge in violin, piano, lyric singing and theory and music theory. After returning to Chile, Monik became a priority artist for Universal Music, began recording her first album Mónica, produced by Claudio Quiñones and released his first single Se Sincera written by her. The second single Sin Ti Sigueé (composed by Guz) becomes Number 1 in the radio ranking in one month, which boosted Monica's career. She recorded her first video clip with the filmmaker Sebastián Araya (Blue and White). She recorded “Chao”, belonging to the Soundtrack of Promedio Rojo (Nicolás López) 2 which had a high rotation on the radios, She also participated in the album "Proyecto Mono" with the opening of Candy Candy, a single that was also the only one that had radial rotation and that was also used for television commercials. After this, Monik dissociates herself from Universal Music, resumes his University studies and begins to prepare her second studio album, groups new musicians and forms a band "MONIK" with whom he records the new album independently, to be later edited by Leader Music. in 2007. The new album is made up of 10 songs written by Mónica and was produced together with Marcelo Aldunate, his first single "Grita" had strong repercussions due to its central theme which called for reporting abuses, later the singles "Invierno Under the Sun ”,“ Ángel Errado ”and“ Rocío ”kept Monik performing Shows in different places of the Country. In 2009 Monik graduated as a Commercial Engineer and in 2011 she began to record her third studio album, the second as a solo album, together with Gonzalo González and with the cooperation of Franklin Zuvic (Déjà Vu, Truman) in production and arrangements. His third album, "Pretend" is released in October 2012 in digital form, then in physical form is distributed by Bamers stores. Her first single is "Quiero" whose video made by herself is published on different internet portals, then "Te Busco" and finally "De a Dos" which accumulates 8,000 visits the first week of the premiere.
