Swedish church musician and composer, born January 29, 1889 in Stockholm, died July 24, 1970. He graduated as an organist in 1909 and as a church singer and music teacher in 1914 at the Royal Conservatory of Music. Berg was organist and cantor in Holy Trinity Church in Gävle from 1916 to 1955 and music teacher at various Gävle schools (girls' school, educational institution and seminary in Hagaström). He was a music critic in Gefle Dagblad 1931-1942. He wrote organ and choir works mainly for church use, as well as orchestral works and music for piano. He belonged to the direction of the new objectivity. His textbooks for choral teaching were widely used as the Choral Choir (1938, more editions) as well as collections of choral compositions such as Sacrae cantiones (1946) and Madrigals and choral songs (1950). Berg received the Medal for the Promotion of Music in 1958 and the Music Association's scholarship in 1960.
