Martin Sörling

Swedish musician, born January 25, 1958, died April 25, 2012. Martin Sörling was one of Swedish punk's pioneers and played under the artist name Martin Maskin electric bass in the group Grisen Skriker. Along with Joakim Thåström, Henrik Franzén and Pelle Lidell, Sörling was a member of the punk band Pop-stars, a group that performed only a legendary gig; on Långholmen on 6 July 1979. He also appears on Kenta Gustafsson's debut album Kenta (released on Metronome 1979), where he plays electric bass on the song Just today I am strong. In the early 1980s, Sörling had a band, Sexophones, together with Olle Ljungström. After the punk period, Martin Sörling was active as a composer and also worked as an interior designer.
