Katherine Perry

Jazz singer, dancer, and violinist, who recorded as a band vocalist with Earl Hines and Fats Waller. She was originally discovered by Lew Leslie in the early 1930s, and performed with his Blackbirds. According to Rust, she recorded twos sides with Earl Hines in Chicago on July 27, 1926, "Mandy" and "Sadie Green (The Vamp of New Orleans)" for Columbia, which both remain unissued. She was in a common-law marriage with Hines in the 1930s.
